The Victoria Grizzlies would like to congratulate their graduating 20 year old players and wish them the best of luck in all of their future endeavours
Please join us in congratulating Elliot Dutil on finishing his junior career during the 2023-24 season. Elliot finishes his career with an impressive resume including a Centennial Cup with the Brooks Bandits in 2022-23.
He joined the Grizzlies in a trade before the Christmas break and scored 7 goals and 20 points in his 32 games as a Grizzly. Elliot also made a pit stop in the SJHL with the Notre Dame Hounds where he played 57 games for a grand total of 187 games in junior (including post season). 76 goals and 160 points in a junior career is not to shabby at all.
We wish you the best of luck wherever next year may take you.
Ranvir Gill-Shane joined the Grizzlies at the trade deadline in a trade with the Merritt Centennials and finished the year strong by collecting 19 points and 1 goal in 60 games (including the playoffs).
Ranvir completed multiple years in the OHL with the Ottawa 67’s as well as the Hamilton Bulldogs for a 125 combined games of Ontario Major Junior experience before his BCHL career. He also spent a year in the CCHL, playing in 57 games creating a grand total of 251 appearances (including playoffs) in junior hockey.
We wish you the best of luck at the University of Toronto with the Varsity Blues next year Ranvir!
Deven Nagra was an integral part of the Grizzlies defence last year after coming to our family in a trade with Langley before the season kicked off. Devon was a calming presence on the back end and quickly became a beloved voice and personality in the locker room in the most genuine way.
Deven finishes with an impressive resume of experience in Junior hockey after; a year in the OJHL with the Milton Menace, where he collected 3 goals and 17 points in 54 games, two years in Langley with the Rivermen (24 points in 81 games) and finally 14 points in his 54 games as a Grizzly.
Good luck in all your future endeavours Deven!
Anthony Carone started his Grizzlies career in 2022, becoming an important part of the brass of the team. During his rookie season he scored 9 goals and added 27 points in 53 games for a very impressive opening campaign that showed glimpses of greatness.
Last year he was nothing short of that. He again scored 9 goals, but would compliment that total with a whopping 33 assists for 42 points. Anthony finishes his career as a Grizzly with 107 regular season games played and 69 points.
Wishing you the best of luck with the College of the Holy Cross next year Anthony. We will keep a close eye on you!
Luc Pelletier graduates from the Grizzlies after 4 years in the program. He joined our family in the 2020-21 COVID Pod season as a bright eyed rookie and we watched him grow into a big bodied force to be reckoned with.
Luc scored 20 goals and added 25 assists for 45 points in this his final year, while dominating in the post season with 11 points in 11 games. Pelletier finishes his Grizzly career as the 19th longest tenured payer in franchise history.
Congratulations Luc, it will be strange to not see you in the lineup next year but we can’t wait to see your success at Princeton!
Our final graduating player is our latest captain Ty Waram.
Another Grizzly who spent his entire 4 year career with the Grizzlies. Ty also started his career in the 2020-21 Pod season and comes up with 171 regular season games played in a Victoria sweater. That mark is good enough for 17th all time.
Tyler was the face of the Grizzlies for the past year and collected multiple honours in his career including; Jason Gow (Teammate) Memorial Award, Most Dedicated Player and the Tony Burrows (Community) Award.
Thank you for a fantastic four years in Victoria and we wish you the best of luck with Alaska-Fairbanks next season!
