Grizzlies Drop Fifth Straight To Kings

Victoria, BC ~ The Victoria Grizzlies are officially in a slump after dropping their fifth in a row on Saturday night to the Powell River Kings

Victoria started on the right note going up 2-0 in the first seven minutes of the match. First it was Ryan Watt banging home a rebound on the powerplay in the first minute of the game before it was a tip from Chase Pirtle that beat Powell River goaltender Vincent Lamberti short side.

Powell River would respond by finding the back of the goal late in the first twice in less than 30 seconds to tie the game at two heading into the first intermission.

A relatively uneventful second period would follow with no scoring to tell meaning that the third period would be the deciding one.

Powell River scored a early goal in the period and than Landon Mackie would tie it by putting his own rebound home.

A Powell River powerplay would follow half way through the period and the Kings would go up by one before up by two 5 minutes later.

With the net empty, Victoria pressed for a marker but Powell River would score on an empty goal to seal the victory 6-3.

Victoria stays at home to try and crack this five game losing streak and host the Surrey Eagles on Friday and the Langley Rivermen on Saturday.
