Victoria, BC ~ The Victoria Grizzlies announced on Tuesday morning that they have signed 2006 born defenseman Garrett Frazer.
Garrett joins the Grizzlies from the Janesville Jets of the NAHL where he had appeared in 10 games and collected 6 points. Frazer, who hails from Haymarket, Virginia, USA spent last year with the Jets as well where he had 15 points and 127 penalty minutes in 51 games.
“I’m really excited to join the Grizzlies,” said Frazer, “The city is gorgeous so it will be a really cool experience and the coaching staff is awesome so far. I hope to bring a high level of physicality and heavy hockey for the defensive side of the game. As well as having a good first pass and joining the rush offensively to create scoring chances. Overall I can’t wait to join the team and start this new chapter.”
Frazer came up through the Honeybaked hockey system in Farmingdale, Michigan where he both captained the U15 AAA team and U16 AAA team. Certainly a good omen of his leadership qualities. Garrett has appeared in 17 games for the Muskegon Lumberjacks in the USHL between 2022-24.
“We are really excited to add Garrett to our blueline,” said Geoff Grimwood, Grizzlies associate coach and director of player personnel, “He is going to make our backend stronger and deeper and again we are happy to have him here.”
The Northeastern University commit is expected to be in the lineup on Friday night as the Grizzlies welcome the Prince George Cougars into town for Victoria’s annual Teddy Bear Toss game.
