Grizzlies Sign Carter Hynes

Victoria, BC ~ The Victoria Grizzlies announced this morning that they will be welcoming 6’4, 215 pound defenseman; Carter Hynes for the 2024-25 season.

Carter, an 2006 born player, hails from St. John’s, Newfoundland and has spent the last couple of seasons with the Notre Dame Hounds in the SJHL.

“I can’t wait to meet the boys,” said Hynes, “this was the best move for me, getting to the next level and Victoria showcased their interest in me and I believe it is the best spot to go.”

Carter joins recent Grizzly signing, Vincent Palmarin, as the 2nd Notre Dame Hound to move up to the BCHL and join the Grizzlies.

“I can’t stop talking about it with Vinny. It will be great to have a familiar face,” Carter said when asked about their relationship.

“Both Vincent and Carter came highly recommended and coach Grimwood had a chance to go see them play,” said Grizzlies Head Coach and GM Rylan Ferster when prodded about the signing.

“It is no secret that like big mobile defenseman, and we have had success with that in the past couple of seasons so we would like to continue on that trend,” closed Ferster

Finally Carter would end his interview by saying, “I want to play in all situations. To be a guy they can rely on while using my weight and weight to my advantage. I want to be the best team guy that I can.”

Welcome to Bear Country Carter!
